Alfred Alois Schneider, 88, of Temple, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at his residence.
Mr. Schneider was born on December 19, 1937, in Cyclone to Joe Lee and Martha Bartek Schneider. He graduated from Rogers High School and proudly served in the United States Army and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966. He married Patricia Barton on December 14, 1963.
Alfred devoted 36 years of his career to Wilson Art, where he developed several engineering projects that improved production nationwide. Even after retirement, his strong work ethic continued as he worked as Mr. Wilson’s personal gardener and took great pride in maintaining the beauty of his own yard—there truly was not a lazy bone in his body.
He loved classic country music, had a natural talent on the dance floor, and was especially proud of his 1956 Ford Victoria. Through local car club shows, where he frequently won trophies, Alfred formed many lasting friendships. His cherished Ford was even featured in several movie productions.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Schneider, and their son, Karl Schneider.
He is survived by three stepchildren, Ricky Dixon, Michael Schneider, and Debbie Haven; two grandchildren, Kristopher Schneider and wife Amanda of Troy and Kasey Schneider of Temple; step-grandchildren Melinda Dixon, Justin Dixon, Robert Dixon, Michael Schneider Jr., Sherry Tanner, and Trisha Giddens; three brothers, Virgil Schneider and wife Irlene of Temple, Kenneth Schneider and wife Pat of Georgetown, and Michael Schneider and wife Nancy of Cyclone; and two sisters, Judy Lesikar and husband Jerry of Denton and Madolin Strawn and husband Ronnie of Temple. He also leaves behind 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cyclone, with Rev. Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.
