Geneva Louise Gipson Brantley Shamrock

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Geneva Louise Gipson Shamrock, age 90, of Houston, who departed this life on June 6, 2025, at an assisted living center in Houston.

Geneva was born on May 17, 1935, in El Paso, Texas, to Errett D. and Gladys (Griffith) Gipson. A dedicated member of the Methodist faith, she enjoyed a fulfilling career as a secretary before her retirement. 

Geneva is survived by her beloved husband of 20 yrs, Jerome Shamrock of Cameron, her daughter, Kathy Dee Franco of Cypress and son Dana Clay Phelps of Ft. Worth, Texas. Her Son in law James Franco, Daughter in law Rebecca Phelps, Grandson Donald Cory Phelps, Granddaughter Emily Taylor Franco, Grandson in Law Brian Martin, Great Granddaughters Cameron Martin and Hayden Phelps, and Great-grandsons, Dustin Phelps and Bentley Phelps.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Roy Phelps of 21 yrs, her daughter Beth Ann Phelps, husband Edward Ray Brantley 19 yrs, sister Bertie Lou Williams, brother, Errett Dee Gipson, Jr., Granddaughter Sara Courtney Martin. While a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time, we invite those who knew Geneva to remember her warmth and kindness in the days to come. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
