After 20 plus years in the Navy he retired in Beeville, Texas. He and several of his Navy friends, as well as his fellow air traffic controllers, continued their friendship in Beeville for many years. Aflter a period of retirement, he began his next career, as a private pilot for a pipeline company.
Eventually, Rosebud became his home and off to the next chapter in his life. He served on the Rosebud City Council. He was a long-haul trucker for many years with Werner Enterprises. Once he grew tired of the long-haul lifestyle, he found a local gig working for Penske, where he could be home each night. He worked there driving then finally managing until he retired for good.
