James Preston Abbott, 91, passed away on September 16, 2026. He was born on June 3, 1935.

Mr. Abbott served his country in the United States Navy for 3 years and 7 months aboard the USS Hyman. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver. His life was marked by dedication to his work, his service, and the people he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helena Abbott; his sons, Joseph and George Morin; his daughter, Martha Coey; his brother, Tommy Ross; his granddaughter, Misty Morin; his great-grandson, Timothy Malina; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Abbott; and his parents, James Abbott and Helena Langston.

James leaves behind a large family who will carry his memory forward with love. He is survived by his sons, James Abbott, Robert Abbott, and John Abbott and his wife, Minnie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian Malina; Rusty Malina and his wife, Heather; Tammy Vaugh; Danny Morin; Joey Morin; Kevin Morin; Crystal Morin; Pat Morin; Dusty Barnwell; Robby Abbott; Cody Abbott; Tinish Harris; Felica Schumacher; J.D. Abbott; and Jo Rodiaguze.

He will be remembered with affection by all who knew him, and his memory will remain a lasting part of the lives of his family and friends.
