James Fredrick Schaub

Our beloved James “Jim” went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at John Knox Village in Weslaco, Texas.

Jim was born on June 22, 1942 to Fred E. Schaub and Betty Franks Schaub in Gatesville, Texas. He was the first-born son. His younger brother Kenneth Schaub preceded him in death. Jim spent his youth in Gatesville, Texas.

Jim met his wife to be Sharon Kay Wunsch on a blind date. The couple married on November 25, 1961 in Westphalia, Texas at the Church of the Visitation.

Jim worked for over 35 years for Southwestern Bell and AT&T. He believed in teaching people he worked with to save their money for retirement. He spent many years of his personal time working in jail and prison ministries to assist people in overcoming their past.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sharon Wunsch Schaub, two daughters, Mecca Schaub Henry and Kevin Ann Schaub Mullen, brother-in-law Harlen Rudy Wunsch of Katy, Texas and many other loving relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westphalia, Texas.

Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud is in charge of arrangements.
