Marshall Lawrence Lewis

1947-2025

With solemn hearts we announce the passing of Marshall Lawrence Lewis of Heidenheimer after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. His presence will be deeply missed, having departed on Monday April 28, 2025, at the age of 77.

As we bid farewell to our Brother, we will cherish his memories held dear -the jokes, the laughter, the wisdom, the willingness to help others and his giving heart. Though Marshall may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace and the light of his enduring love.

Born on December 31, 1947, in Rosebud, Texas to the late David Thomas Lewis and Maybell Kelsey Lewis. Marshall graduated from Rosebud High School in 1966. After graduation, he joined the United States Army. Marshall was a strong, hardworking man and a jack of all trades; he worked a day job and farmed at night until he retired from Wilson Art and Budweiser. He farmed and raised cattle and sheep full time. His greatest passion was working on his farm; plowing and raking to make bales upon bales of hay. He is well known for the quality of his crop and the abundant harvest he produced year after year. He was proud of this accomplishment. He spent most of his time on the land that he loved and it loved him back; it produced fine crops and a yearly abundant harvest.

He is survived by two daughters, DeAnna (Dena) Lewis, Shasta and husband Adam Renfrow and a son Larry Ryan Lewis. He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Uptmore, Patsy Dorner, David (Buddy) and wife Evelyn Lewis, Sylvia and husband Freddie Mulsow and Glenda and husband John McLerran.

He is preceded in death by his parents David and Maybell Lewis, son DeWayne Thorpe, niece Stacey Mulsow and nephew Nathan Sodek.

Visitation will be held one hour before the services. The service will be held at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home at Rosebud on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Don Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow at Powers Chapel Cemetery on FM 2027, Rosebud, TX.
