Tammy Adkins Murphy passed away on July 26, 2026, in Milano, Texas, at the age of 60. Born on November 28, 1965, in Huntington, West Virginia. Tammy brought warmth and compassion to those around her from the very beginning.

She was a beloved sister, cherished by many. Tammy is survived by her sisters, Deborah Short, Cathie Schumaker, and Darline Adkins, and her brothers, Walt Adkins, Arnold Adkins, Robert Adkins, and Lonnie Adkins. She is also remembered with love by all her family who preceded her in death: her brothers Gene Adkins, Charles Adkins, Montie Adkins, and Don Adkins; her father, Robert Rull Adkins; her mother, Dorothy Crum Adkins; her sisters Carolyn Rickman, Andria McSorley, Deanna Adkins, and Dianna Adkins. Each family member played an important part in Tammy's story, sharing in her joys, challenges, and triumphs across the years.

Tammy devoted many years of her career to Rail Carrier Express, where her dedication and strong work ethic were well known. She built not just a livelihood but also a community of colleagues and friends who valued her kindness and reliability. Tammy’s love of animals, especially her dogs, was evident to everyone who knew her; her animals brought her comfort and companionship throughout her life.

Her memory will endure in the hearts and stories of her surviving siblings, extended family, and all whose lives she touched. As her family and friends reflect on her legacy, they honor the woman she was—steadfast, loving, and true.
