It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Terry Shelton 89, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday September 25, 2026 in Bartlett TX. Born October 31, 1936 in Buckholts TX to JT Shelton and Vivian Walker Shelton, who preceded him in death.
A graduate of Sharp High School in 1955 and Baylor University 1960. Terry went on to serve Southside ISD in San Antonio TX for 37 years as classroom teacher, Baseball and Football Coach, Drivers Ed Instructor, ICT Coordinator, and ending his career as Director of Operations.
He was a lifetime member of Friendship United Methodist Church Buckholts TX where he served as President for several years. He extended that service to Friendship Cemetery Association and served as their President as well.
On September 8, 1961 he married Dorothy Faglie in Belton TX. They had two children, twin daughters. They built a life together, a union that lasted for 65 years.
Terry will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude -- for the life he shared, the impact he made, the work he faithfully carried out, the steadfast loyalty to his family, and the enduring bonds he made with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughters Laura Shelton, Laurie Moulder and son-in-law Buddy Moulder, sister Mozelle Doskocil, and brother Dennis Shelton and sister-in-law Clydie Shelton.
A memorial service will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church 9027 FM1915 Buckholts TX on November 14, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Pastor Bridget Prescher will be presiding over services. Green -Patterson Funeral Home Cameron TX is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to stay for a luncheon following services.
May his life be remembered with honor and may those who knew and loved him find comfort in that remembrance.
