Virgie Marie Burns

Virgie Marie Burns, 88 of Rosebud, died Friday July 4, 2025 in a Rosebud Nursing Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.

Mrs. Burns was born March 10, 1937 in Crockett to Sidney J. and Ila Moses Burns. She married George Burns Sr. on September 6, 1952. She worked as a seamstress for Rosebud Upholstery. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, George Burns Sr. of Rosebud, one daughter, Judy Ehler of Rosebud, one son, George Burns Jr. of Rosebud, one brother, Sidney Burns of Damon, and one sister, Betty Ruth White of Rosebud, 4 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
