Wanda Gale Cass Lee

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wanda Gale Cass Lee announces her passing on August 25th, 2025. Wanda was born on July 18th, 1941 in Leander, TX to parents Koye A. Cass and Tommie Payne Cass. As a vital part of her community and beloved “Nana” to many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Throughout Wanda’s life, you could find her involved in just about everything in Gause. From a young age she was a song leader at Gause Baptist Church, a title she proudly upheld for 60+ years. She continued her ministry through the church by leading Vacation Bible School for over 30 years. One of her biggest passions was her role in 4-H, where she not only represented the county but at the state level as well. Wanda was also dedicated to the growth and improvement of her community by being heavily involved in Gause PTO, leading the local food bank, volunteering for the cemetery association and with the Community Improvement Program. Arguably her most famous location would be her beauty shop, where she did hair for 47 years. Upon retiring she was right next door, continuing to serve by being Nana to grandkids, numerous nieces, nephews and local children. Without question, Wanda can be described as loving, faith-filled and selfless touching the lives of many.

Wanda is survived by son Craig Lee, partners Fred Mosel and Tom Edmonson; daughter Kelly Cooper, husband Chris Cooper and their two children- Connelly Cooper, wife Caitlyn Cooper and Cameron Cooper, wife Ashley Cooper with their son Corbin Cooper; son Eric Lee, wife Megan Teel and their children- Kristian Morales, husband Roman Morales with children Joseph, Elijah, Kaden and Rosie- Kendall Lee and Jadyn Stokley; daughter Kristi Lee, partner Jimmy King and their children- Jaxon Hayles, Brady King, Callen King and Lily King; daughter Leah Lee and her daughter- Addyson Tamez. Wanda is also survived by her siblings Edith “Sissy” Cass Miller, James “Jimmy” Cass, Ray Cass as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Morriss Lee, her parents and sister Kay Cass Lagrone.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM at Gause Baptist Church. All who knew Wanda are invited to join in celebrating her full life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests support towards Gause Baptist Church, Gause Cemetery Association and/or Gause 4-H Club in Wanda’s memory.
