William Tommy Sammon, 79 of Marlin, died Wednesday August 12, 2026 in a Temple Nursing Center. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22,2026 in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud.

Mr. Sammon was born on December 3,1946 in Rosebud to William Seth and Elmer Chevallier Sammon. He graduated from Rosebud High School and attended TSTC in Waco. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He worked for the Falls Community Hospital in Marlin and was co-owner of Kash-Way Grocery and Live Oak Grocery in Marlin. He also worked as a farmer and rancher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Dorothy Halunka, Willis Reese, Carol Anne Meredith, and Willard Sammon and by one granddaughter, Emily Higgins.

He is survived by two sons, Joshua Sammon of Belton, Nathan Sammon and wife Shonda of Mancos, Colorado, one daughter, Cassie Lenehan and husband Eric of Greenville, SC, seven grandchildren, Addison, Willow, Greyson, Lucy, Bailey, Luke and Logan

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
